This module is a stand alone one but can also be connected with the DOA/RMA module since some products that are returned may have the serial numbers that need to be specified during the product return process.

The process of assigning serial numbers to products can be done either manually by an administrator with the specific serial numbers, or automatically with the random serial numbers.
The system monitors the number of assets to be necessarily assigned.

An administrator can unassign a serial number and then assign another one in an order.
During the product return process if a serial number was assigned to a product this serial number needs to be included in the return request. This rule applies to all the return requests submitted both by an administrator from the backend and by a customer from the account.
The serial number needs to be specified by an administrator while processing the return request and while restocking a product.
After restocking the serial number is again available for a product for sale. It appears in the list below the product in the order.

This module is used both in the backend and on the front end. In the backend it is available under Products/Catalogue/Products Assets Fields, Modules/Extensions tabs and while adding/editing a product under Main details tab, on the front end it is available while submitting a return request if a product that needs to be returned has the serial number.
