An obsolete product is a product that is no longer needed because something better has been invented, or a product that has reached the end of its life cycle.
The obsolete product module allows you to monitor and manage the product life cycle, as well as to create and offer a replacement product alternative for purchase.
This module also allows redirecting obsolete products to their replacement products automatically, as well as to assign End of Life stock indication to all the obsolete products, either globally or individually for each product for both options.
Under the automatic redirection the first product is to be chosen from the replacement product list, even if there are several replacement products available for an obsolete product.
This module provides two ways of adding of the replacement product to the obsolete one:
- 1. By filling in the Model number(s) (SKU(s)) or the product ID(s)
- 2. By finding the required product(s) in the Find products section
Using this module you can also view and edit Stock status text in different languages, and add the widget to assign the replacement products to the required section on the product page.
