This module is used for identifying attributes (variations) on a website. Even though variations can be parts of the same product they can still be quite different from one another. For example, a piece of clothes (product) can have different variations in size or in color. Thus, in order to differentiate among variations it is necessary to add the required values to them.
This module allows you to add not only the physical characteristics of a variation (weight) or its availability on a website (date available) but also the unique value(s) that can be used for identifying this variation within the different systems. See the description of these values below.
Model numbers are the unique values used for identifying a product or a variation on a website, UPC (the Universal Product Code) is a barcode symbology that is widely used worldwide for tracking trade items in stores, EAN (the International Article Number) is a standard describing a barcode symbology and numbering system used in global trade to identify a specific retail product type, in a specific packaging configuration, from a specific manufacturer, ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) is a ten-digit alphanumeric code that identifies products on Amazon and ISBN (the International Standard Book Number) is a numeric commercial book unique identifier.
This module is used in the backend only and can be found under the Modules and Extensions tabs.
